Position: Founder of the Everyday Feathers Foundation

Laura Tracey

Laura Tracey is a licensed school psychologist and founder of the Everyday Feathers Foundation. Inspired by the life of her yellow Labrador Retriever, Brody, and the love and kindness he shared with others—a reminder that everyday moments matter—Laura founded the organization after losing him to cancer. The foundation supports families whose dogs are facing cancer diagnoses while also promoting mental health through the healing connection between people and dogs.

Originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, Laura moved to Florida in 2005 and has spent her career advocating for children and families in both public and private education settings. As part of her work as a school psychologist, Laura has supported school communities during times of crisis. While assisting students in the days following the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy in Parkland, Florida, she witnessed firsthand the powerful impact therapy dogs can have in helping people process trauma and find moments of calm during unimaginable circumstances.

Through the Everyday Feathers Foundation, Laura works to build resilience within communities by supporting families facing difficult diagnoses for their canine companions and by promoting the powerful role dogs can play in emotional healing and wellbeing.
