Shacondra’s career in social and human services began shortly after completing her undergraduate studies, driven by a deep commitment to helping others. With a particular focus on the aging population, she has dedicated over a decade to serving elderly individuals. Initially working as a care coordinator for Medicaid recipients, Shacondra gained invaluable insight into the systemic challenges faced by this vulnerable group, including significant gaps in resources and a lack of access to appropriate care. Now in her second year as a Master of Social Work candidate at Florida State University, she continues to be motivated by a strong sense of purpose in her role as a social worker at a local skilled nursing facility. Shacondra’s work is centered on educating and empowering the aging community, as well as providing critical tools and resources for elderly individuals and their caregivers. She is deeply committed to fostering real, impactful solutions, while raising awareness about the needs of the elderly and honoring those who have contributed so much to society, ensuring they receive the respect and care they deserve.
Shacondra aspires to cultivate the necessary resources and support to elevate her passion project, HONOR, ultimately becoming a dedicated advocate for the aging community and their caregivers.
